Blurred Lines (06.29.25)
Blurred Lines: Maintaining Ethical Standards in Psychotherapy equips social workers and other psychotherapists with the skills to build and sustain meaningful client connections while honoring ethical boundaries. Participants will explore the foundations of effective engagement, including rapport-building, genuineness, respect, and professionalism. The course offers practical strategies for working with guarded or reluctant clients, using casual conversation to build rapport, and navigating self-disclosure with intention. Through interactive discussions, role-plays, and self-reflection, clinicians will strengthen their ability to create safe, affirming spaces, examine personal biases, and ensure that unresolved experiences do not compromise therapeutic work.
